Joey’s Famous Philly Cheesesteaks closes; Southgate owner uncertain if temporary or permanent

What a Coney dog is to Detroit a cheesesteak is to Philadelphia. When Joey’s Famous Philly Cheesesteaks opened in Southgate, the store aimed to bring the southeast Pennsylvania favorite to southeast Michigan. But on Feb. 1, its owner announced via Facebook that the restaurant was shutting down.
